Pinstripe

Pinstripe
Somerset band Pinstripe are one of the hardest working young bands in the country. To date the four sixteen and seventeen year old musicians have played more than 100 gigs since their debut show in April 2005. In February 2006 the band released their self-produced Critic Killer CD single which features their self penned songs, “Critic Killer”, “The Only One” and “This Feeling Inside”. Pinstripe have played shows throughout the West Country and Southern UK including “The Bristol Carling Academy” “Moles Club in Bath” “Storm” and “The Embassy Club” in London. The boys have also played at music festivals in the South West and made an appearance on Channel 4’s music show “Transmission”. In January 2007 Pinstripe won a place at the Glastonbury Festival after winning a BotB’s competition held in Glastonbury for unsigned bands based in the South West. March 2007 saw Pinstripe sign a record deal with South West Recordings, headed by Dennis Smith and Rick Rogers. The band recorded their debut single at Sawmills recording studio where bands such as Muse, Oasis and Supergrass have recorded albums. A “Did I Say”/”Innocent” Double A Side will be released in early October 2007.

PRESS

“Pinstripe had the distinction of being handpicked by Michael Eavis to appear at this year’s Glastonbury and to all intents went down a bit of a storm. They cite Oasis and Muse as inspirations and certainly Innocent shares plenty in common with the latter band. The guitars are loud, sweeping and epic in scope, while the song itself builds to quite a euphoric finale. Just occasionally, Josh Thorner’s vocals sound a little like James’ Tim Booth’s. With this in mind, it’s worth keeping an eye on the band as they clearly have a keen ear for a strong melody and a rousing indie-pop tune.” Indie London “Innocent is a rather atmospheric and driving piece of Brit rock, with passionate and powerful vocals. Rather than relying on gimmicks, Pinstripe has produced a straight down the line rock track which can’t fail to appeal to fans of the genre” Die Shellsuit Die!
